Invisible Paths

  room 197
Therme Vals... gray stone, sharp corners everywhere, natural light channelled through perfectly straight slats in the roof, echos vibrating through basins with high ceilings. Some water 42°, 14°, outside 30°, steam rooms on smooth black stones, even some of the famous Valser Wasser mixed with flower petals and sweet smell of a million blossoms.
Three days of relaxing.
And the hotel attached to the spa made a mistake with the booking, so that we ended up in the best room of the house... designed by Zumtor himself. Sometimes certain things are just meant to happen...

  happy Sunday
When I first came to Switzerland, I had some expectations, like working hard on the MC, thinking about AIESEC, talking to lots of members, meeting many companies, etc.
Well, these expectations are being met on a daily basis. But there is something that is by far surpassing my wildest dreams... and that is our little flat in Bernastrasse 53... right in the middle of the embassy quarter, next door to the Mexican embassy, the military protected US embassy down the road (complete with roadblocks and mirrors to check cars from below)... This flat is such a home, with the coziest atmosphere, and where Zuzka and Sam are waiting for me right now to make waffles! The life of the MCVPs of AIESEC in Switzerland plus husband Sam is sweet!!! What a shame that Rob lives in Wabern!
Anyone visiting Bern is very welcome to join us in embassy-land.

  Pandas make me happy
OK. I do have an extremely girly side, which I revealed by squeaking "Ohhh how CUTE!!!" one day a few weeks ago, when we found this picture in a newspaper that was on a seat in the train we took to go on one of our trips:

Wonderful

... Arriving at each new city, the traveler finds again a past of his that he did not know he had: the foreigness of what you no longer are or no longer possess lies in wait for you in foreign, unpossessed places... (Italo Calvino)
